PRINCIPLES

You're better off partnering

Comparative advantage is the simple concept that it's better to capitalize on your strengths than to try to improve on your weaknesses.

The idea is attributed to David Ricardo's 1817 text On the Principles of Political Economy and Taxation.

In the text, Ricardo calculates that even though both England and Portugal are capable of producing cloth and wine, England produces cloth with much less effort, while Portugal is much better at producing wine. Therefore, they would be better off trading with each other rather than trying to produce both goods independently.

Find what you do best and partner up for the rest.

TACTICS FOR REVEAL USERS

Use these four channels to ask for an intro

The best partner intros are high-intention messages that give context as to why the introduction is relevant to your prospect.

And it just makes sense—customers are more likely to consider and adopt a product or service recommended by someone they already trust.

If you're a Reveal user, here are four channels you need to make sure you're leveraging to ask for intros:

  1. Reveal’s Get Intro
  2. Your CRM
  3. Slack
  4. Email

Reveal's Get Intro

With Reveal’s Get Intro, your Sales team can collaborate directly with you, and/or partners to request nearbound help (in the form of introductions, intel, and influence) and drive revenue on their accounts. Click here to learn more.

Your CRM

You can easily ask for an intro to the Partner Manager, Account Manager, or even your partner’s AEs directly from your HubSpot or Salesforce widget. With Reveal’s Get Intro button, you can choose who you want the intro to (make sure you select a deal influencer).

Slack

Reveal’s Get Intro to Slack is a better way to get your Sales team to request help on accounts while allowing Partner Managers to maintain transparency and control with partners. This seamless process, tracked directly on Slack, streamlines connections with partner reps, fostering valuable relationships for both present and future collaborations.

Email

Every Friday, Reveal users receive a weekly digest email on partnerships that they favorited on Reveal, containing the latest updates on open opportunities, prospects without open opportunities, and new joint customers. If you saw that one of your prospects became a customer of your partner, this might be the right time to connect with a partner and ask for an intro directly from that e-mail.
